I’m a freelance Next.js developer based in Market Harborough, working with businesses and agencies across the UK. I build websites and web applications with React and TypeScript, bringing the interface, content and functionality together.

You might have an approved design ready for development, a product brief that needs shaping, or an existing Next.js application that needs further work. I can help with the complete build or an agreed development scope alongside your team. We start with the users, page types and interactions, then work out how the application should handle its content and data.
Next.js can support both public websites and the more interactive parts of a product. The work can include reusable React components, content from a CMS, forms, account areas and connections to existing APIs. I consider rendering, navigation, loading and error states as part of the build, alongside performance, accessibility and which pages should be available to search engines.
This Made By James website is a public example of my Next.js work, built with React and TypeScript. It uses shared components for the service and project pages, responsive image delivery and server-rendered page content and metadata. Those are practical parts of building a site that can be maintained as its content grows.
Before release, we agree checks for the important pages and workflows, the deployment setup and the handover. Hosting, content editing, access and future development all need clear ownership. If you are bringing an existing project, I review its code and setup first so the proposed changes fit the application you already have.

Can you take over an existing Next.js project?
Yes. I first review the repository, dependencies, deployment setup and the work you want to complete. That helps identify any unfinished functionality or constraints before I quote. The scope can then focus on the changes the project actually needs, with a release plan for the existing site or application.
Can a Next.js website have editable content?
Yes. Next.js can display content managed in a separate CMS. We choose the editing setup around who will use it, which content they need to change and any existing systems. Previewing changes, publishing and handling images should be considered alongside the public website.
Do you work from agency-supplied designs?
Yes. I can build from supplied designs and work with your designer on the responsive layouts, interactions and content structure. I also offer white-label development for agencies, with communication, confidentiality and delivery responsibilities agreed before the project starts.
What do you need to estimate a Next.js build?
Share the designs or brief, the main pages and workflows, any CMS or API requirements, and your intended budget and timescale. For an existing application, access to the code and deployment information will help. I use that review to define a development scope and a project-specific quote.
